CURRENT ADMISSIONS SNAPSHOT

PCC lists a 108-credit AAS, including 45 prerequisite credits and six terms of nursing study. Admission is limited and point-based; meeting the minimums does not guarantee a place.

Prerequisites before admission

  • Complete 30 of the 45 designated prerequisite credits by December 13, 2026, including BI 231Z and the math requirement.
  • Finish the remaining prerequisites by the end of PCC spring term. The prerequisite GPA must be at least 3.0, and each course requires a C or higher.
  • BI 231Z, BI 232Z, BI 233Z, BI 234, FN 225, PSY 215 and the qualifying math course have a seven-year currency rule for the 2027 application.

Full route and timing

  • Before the cohort: Plan time for 45 prerequisite credits and competitive selection. Prior credits and course sequencing can change how long this takes.
  • Nursing sequence: After admission, the published plan runs six terms. PCC says a new cohort of up to 40 students starts each fall.
  • Fall 2027 entry: Apply to PCC by December 14, 2026. The nursing application is open December 2, 2026 through February 15, 2027 at 8:59pm Pacific.
ADMISSIONS TIMING

Fall 2027 application dates are published

PCC uses NursingCAS and a three-phase process. Phase I is point-based; selected applicants then complete a panel interview and the HSRT-AD. The current NursingCAS fee is $70.

COST SCOPE

$22,500 published estimate for the two-year nursing program

PCC explicitly excludes prerequisites from that estimate. Its 2026–28 cost page separately lists about $1,100 for books, $300 for uniforms and shoes, $45 for a watch, $50–$200 for a stethoscope, and $2,600 for ATI exams and tools; PCC does not say whether those items are already included in the $22,500 estimate.

  • Resident tuition: $143 per credit, plus $4.25 per-credit student activity and $7.35 per-credit technology fees.
  • College service fee: $15 per term; lab fees can be up to $45 per course.

Still unpriced: Prerequisite tuition and fees; Clinical clearance, immunization and BLS costs; Clinical travel and parking; Post-graduation licensing fees; Food, housing, child care and health insurance.

Questions to take to an advisor

What prerequisites come before the two-year sequence, and how does the separate selection process work?

  • Which required courses or placements are offered only once per year?
  • Can you give me a written estimate covering every required term and practical expense?
  • Which employment, transfer or licensing requirements remain after this award?

Published program length is not a personal completion estimate. Transfer credits, prerequisites, selection and course availability can change the timeline.

After the program

An associate or bachelor’s nursing route can prepare students for RN licensure. Prerequisites and competitive clinical admission can add time before the nursing sequence. Confirm exam and Oregon licensing requirements.
