CURRENT ADMISSIONS SNAPSHOT

This profile covers Chemeketa’s traditional associate RN route. The college also publishes separate practical-nursing, LPN-to-RN and RN-to-BSN information, so applicants should use the guide for the exact pathway they want.

Prerequisites before admission

  • Complete BI 231, BI 232 and BI 233 Anatomy and Physiology within seven years, plus MTH 095 or higher, with grades of C or better by the end of winter term in the application year.
  • BI 112 is a prerequisite to BI 231. Chemeketa says the math requirement cannot be waived with a placement score.
  • Chemeketa says most students spend one or more years on pre-nursing courses and often complete most general education and science requirements before applying.

Full route and timing

  • Before the cohort: Allow one or more years for pre-nursing preparation unless prior coursework shortens the route.
  • Nursing study: Plan for a two-year program with campus and clinical requirements. Background and drug screening repeat at the start of the second year.
  • 2027 entry: The program page links a 2027 pre-nursing guide and lists workshops, but it does not publish a 2027 application window. Do not reuse the closed January 9, 2026 deadline.
ADMISSIONS TIMING

2027 application window is not published on the program page

Chemeketa lists free pre-nursing workshops and says 2027 Kaplan testing dates are still to be determined. The Kaplan entrance exam costs $100 and may contribute up to 20 application points.

Questions to take to an advisor

When is the next application cycle, and which prerequisites must be completed first?

  • Which required courses or placements are offered only once per year?
  • Can you give me a written estimate covering every required term and practical expense?
  • Which employment, transfer or licensing requirements remain after this award?

Published program length is not a personal completion estimate. Transfer credits, prerequisites, selection and course availability can change the timeline.

After the program

An associate or bachelor’s nursing route can prepare students for RN licensure. Prerequisites and competitive clinical admission can add time before the nursing sequence. Confirm exam and Oregon licensing requirements.
