DECISION GUIDE 04
Returning to school with a life already in motion
Start with the credits, responsibilities and goals you already have.
Request a credit review before rebuilding your plan
Ask the receiving school to evaluate prior college credit and any available prior-learning options. A course appearing on a transcript does not guarantee it will count toward this specific award.
Map a real week
Put work, commuting, childcare and study time on the same calendar. Ask about required meeting times and practical placements. Flexibility in one course does not guarantee flexibility throughout a program.
Compare progress and cost together
A shorter remaining route can matter more than a lower annual tuition price. Use a personal education plan, expected financial aid and your actual living costs.
Ask for a named support contact
Find the office that supports returning adults, transfers or your specific needs. Ask what happens if work or family obligations disrupt a term.
